INGREDIENTS
- 5-6 apples (mcintosh, honeycrisp, etc) – peeled and cored
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup rolled oats
- 1.5 tbsp butter
- pinch of salt
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp bourbon
PREPARATION
- Preheat oven brothers wood-fired outdoor oven to 350f
- Grease a 6.5 inch cast iron skillet with butter
- Chop apples into bite-sized pieces
- Toss the apples with the white sugar and cinnamon
- Pour the apple mixture into the skillet
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, rolled oats, butter and salt with the back of a fork.
- Spoon the mixture over the apples
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the apples are tender and the top is golden
- Remove from the oven, let stand a few minutes, then serve with ice cream.
